Have you ever stepped out of bed and felt like your heel was being stabbed with a knife?
You’re not alone. This is one of the most common complaints we hear at Toe-tal Podiatry—and it’s often caused by a condition called Plantar Fasciitis.

What is it?
Plantar fasciitis happens when the thick band of tissue under your foot (the plantar fascia) becomes inflamed. It’s usually worse first thing in the morning or after sitting for long periods.

Why does it happen?
Wearing unsupportive shoes
Flat feet or high arches
Sudden increases in walking, running, or standing
Poor biomechanics

What can you do?
Ice and gentle stretching
Supportive footwear (no thongs or bare feet!)
Avoid high-impact exercise temporarily
Book in for a biomechanical assessment to see if orthotics will help
